Carl English
Founder and CTO

Carl has been writing software since the age of 14 when his parents purchased an early microcomputer for their woodstove business, and he discovered he had to write his own computer games. He studied computer science and art at Harvard University, worked for Microsoft Corporation as a Program Manager, and built and ran a neighborhood wine bar in Seattle. Dinerware is the culmination of a life-long passion for technology that solves real problems, incorporates elegant design, and is easy for non-technical people to use.

Born in Uganda, Carl was one of the first Peace Corps babies. He grew up as the 4th generation on the family farm in Vancouver, Washington, where he now resides and runs the family winery. He is an avid Science Fiction fan, ambitious chef and mixologist, and flew paragliders for many years.

Brian Baughman
Director of Product

Brian comes to Dinerware with 15 years of software industry experience.  As a 12-year Microsoft veteran working chiefly on enterprise products, he learned the skills necessary to manage a product in a competitive industry, with business critical applications.

As Dinerware's Product Manager, Brian takes on a variety of roles, but mainly helps to facilitate Dinerware POS development efforts.  He directs the development work streams, with prioritization and scope of work to be completed.  He also oversees all Q/A efforts, as well as occasionally throwing on his Technical Program Manager hat.  When Brian is not at Dinerware, you can usually find him out hiking in the Cascade foothills.
